This was really interesting; I enjoyed it – but I’ve got to put a disclaimer on my ‘like,’ I think his statement at the end that everyone in the room would go to heaven was presumptuous, and universalistic. I get what he was trying to say, and he certainly said it with conviction but we ought to carry out our salvation ‘with fear and trembling’ and we certainly don’t want to lead people into the false hope that just because they had an experience with the Lord at one point that they will be saved (which is rather heavily implied in what he said on the matter).

    • I agree with you. I would have preferred that he say that God wants all of you in Heaven and His mercy is awaiting your free will acceptance of His invitation.

      • Yes, he was set up well for an evangelistic moment. Though he may not be often given the opportunity to give an alter call in his particular capacity – which would have been more appropriate.
